I give private lessons at my facility in Chisago City, MN. I no longer do group lessons or clinics. I do not have any other instructors helping me. I prefer once a week lessons though once every 2 weeks can work. My students tend to continue coming over for many years. The result of all that is that I have an active roster of about 30 students and not a lot of openings.
I do not charge anything for lessons (donations of up to $20 are accepted) and my students have had a lot of success at all levels. I have far many more students wanting lessons than I can accommodate. I do try to fit in new students who seem committed to hard wok with parents/guardians who are supportive.
If you want to get onto the regular schedule there will be an initial evaluation. If it seems like we would be a good fit for each other I try to find room on the schedule. If there is no room you can get on the cancellation list, finding open spots when my regular students have conflicts and need to miss a lesson. I schedule these sessions a week in advance and the parents are in charge of contacting me to find time.
After getting a regular spot sometimes it doesn't work out. Reasons could be a lack of practice outside of lessons, missing lessons without giving me enough notice or other reasons. Also while I encourage students at 13U and older to get additional instruction from other coaches, choosing to use technique from other coaches that is not compatible with what I teach could result in a student losing her regular spot on my schedule.
Contact me,
, to set up an initial evaluation. These can run as long as 90 minutes. Just because you come to an initial session there is no obligation to accept a spot if offered. In fact I encourage pitchers to go through the evaluation and treat it like a private single session clinic or as a check to see if their current coach is giving them what they need.
